GALLERY - MINI BREAK TO SUFFOLK |
On this, the final day of the Minibreak, we checked out of the hotel and were on the road at about 10.30am. Anticipating that most people would be keen to get back home not too late, we did not have any visits on the way back but we broke the journey with a good stop at Thame, which is about 15 miles east of Oxford, and a comfort break at Burford.
Thame surprised those of us who had not been there before. There was a lot of choice for somewhere to have lunch. It seemed to be a thriving town. Our stop in Burford was a bit frustrating for some, as we had not given ourselves time to stop and look around properly, but there surprisingly few alternatives for a 'pit stop' that side of Gloucester.

| E17L6C | Our journey back home from the hotel (A) through Thame (B), with a short stop at Burford (C), saw us get back to Ewyas Harold (E) just after 5.00pm. [Jon took us via the M5 (D) to avoid Gloucester.] In total, the journey was about 210 miles and took a little under 5 hours on the road, the legs being roughly 2, 1 & 2 hours. | ![]() |
